Hey guys! I need some advice here 😔 I've been working for the same company for over six years using a fake social security number.. I used my real name and all my real information I've only used this number for work. I just got approved and received my new social and my employer doesn't know how to deal with it. They want to fire me and rehire me as a new employee which means I will loose all my benefits and loose all my earnings😔 Is this normal? Is anybody else experiencing something like it ? Does anybody know if there's a way to just change the number? Please help!

So if they have ADP, is it easier for them to update it?

I don't understand why they can't just update it. It is possible for even US citizens to have a new social security number. It would involve extreme circumstances but if they have a severe case of identity theft I've read that they can get a new number. I don't think they would take away their benefits and seniority.
