Did we ever figure out why some people's letters are saying TPS and not DACA?

Received my approval letter today -- it says I've been given TPS, not deferred action like many other people.

Is that just an error in the form, or what's up?

Okay... I called in and put in a service request.

Hopefully this won't come back and bite me in the ass ... but my EAD is already in the email..

Edit: USCIS CIR said it's a typographical error, but they put in a service request for me. 15 day wait to find out more.

Nothing yet.

When I receive my card tomorrow, I'm gonna send my lawyer the card # and she'll look up what the code means as far as what benefit it's derived from.

Temporary Protected Status = Basically what Haitians got after the quake a few years back a .....refugee status. they get a little bit more legal room(than DACA) if you can describe it that way.

Right. TPS is actually legal status. You have full rights of someone who is here legally. For example, you can't be deported without a trial, etc.
