Ok, so I've heard that filling out all the paperwork for DACA by yourself is possibe and I've also heard that it's better to get a lawyer. My questions is what should I do? I haven't had enough funds to apply until now. But I'm worried that I'm taking the wrong steps needed for a successful approval. Can someone please clarify what I should do. Thanks in advance.

And as far as requirements go, I've looked it over and I can see that I meet all the requirements.

Well, have you actually taken a look at the applications? Take a look at them and fill the BASIC things. Remember to build your evidence as you are filling the applications. It helps keeps everything constant. If you can read and understand where C33 goes, then I think you can fill it youself. Ask us!

Some people here paid lawyers $400+ to fill it out. Thats crazy IMO.

I did it myself and so can you. With the help of this forum of course it was simple.

I did it myself and its definitely not as hard as you think, just make sure you double check all the information and organize your evidence. Instead of hiring a lawyers you can use that money towards paying the application fees.

I wish my sister had paid $400, she paid over 2k. I tried reasoning with her about it, she just didn't want to take the a risk. smh

There's so much information online about the whole process and you can ask anything here on the forums.

If you don't have a criminal background or a complicated case like an order of removal or some other weird thing like that, there is no reason why you can't apply yourself.

Look over the forms, fill in what you are certain about, then come on the forums and ask about the questions you don't know.

Remember, the applications are the I-821D, I-765 and I-765WS. The G-1145 is optional.

Filing fee is $465 which must be paid in money order or check to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security"

Look on the DACA site and see what evidence you can submit to prove you meet all of the guidelines.

I filled the forms and did everything myself, I previously worked with an immigration attorney, so it was pretty easy. And working for her I've learned that an attorney isn't really needed, unless you have difficulty presenting evidence/documents or if you have a criminal record. I'm pretty sure this forum is ready to help you.

You might wanna check for workshops or anyone around the area that has filed and can give your a hand in the filing process. I know around Los Angeles, where I live, there were tons of workshops offering free help for those who signed up. Take advantage of all the resources you have, and it's important to DOUBLE CHECK and READ CAREFULLY.
