brenda04, i think it all depends on what state you live in. For example, here in California (the best state of them all ) you can open not only a savings account, but a checking account as well. I have had mine since 2003. In order to do that, you need:

1. An Invidual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), which is what your dad told you.

2. And two other forms of identification (school ID's don't count here)
If you're mexican, you can use your consular id "matricula" and your mexican passport, even thoug you grew up here and have never visited mexicon since you were 4, you can still get your passport from the mexican consulate.

Now, if you're not mexican I don't really know much. I think the Guatemalan goverment offers some sort of ID too. but im not sure.

In which state are you brenda, and how old are you?

well, i wouldn't know since I don't know if the Domican goverment provides ID cards and passports that could be used as IDs to open the account. I know the Mexican goverment does, that's why I was able to open my account.

If I were you I would go to the Dominican embassy in NYC and ask if they give out some short of ID card that could help you.
I'm sorry, but that's all I can think of. I hope that everything works out for you.

Oh, one more thing. I have two questions:

1. Do you have a boyfriend?

2. If you don't, would you date older guys? (like 22)

Where can I get "An Invidual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)"? My parents live in my country. I live with my cousins here in the US.

What are two other forms of identification?

I have a passport and then wot else?

Interesting. Now I definitely didnt know this. I was able to access to both checking and savings accounts, along with credit card, using ssn I got back in 1989 legally.

but I don't know if there are wells fargos in NY. They're pretty popular so I'd amigine so
