Does anyone here have an idea of how long it takes to adjust your stays to PR. We recently filed our paperwork (about three weeks so) and our check has not been cashed, so m wondering if anyone who is EWI filed and got approved and how long it took.

the volume of applications has increased, because of that waiting times have been prolonged. As soon as they cash your checks then that's when you know they've started to look into your application and would probably begin to send out biometric appointment letters, just have some patience.

Filed paperwork to do what? Get your green card? I'm assuming they responded and told you you were good to go and gave you an interview date? If so it's a few days to about two weeks after you meet with a USCIS official and he approves you that you get it in the mail. I got mine three days after the interview.

Process:

-Give you interview date about two weeks after they say they want to interview
-You meet with official
-He approves or declines you
-If approved he requests that they send you a green card
-Green card arrives in a few days to two weeks

If you only filed a petition and haven't heard anything then it can be about 25 yrs. This is why I'm asking for you to clarify if you filed I-485 or a petition merely(type of paperwork). Did you already get your EAD based on DACA? Also, I heard marriage GC are a bit different with the time it takes you to get it being longer, so they sometimes issue you a EAD(if you request it of course).

Yes, it is upwards of 20 yrs for some types of petitions. Check the visa bulletin if you would like specific numbers. There is a difference between filing a petition and filing an i-485. Filing an i 485 means your priority date has become current and you merely have the interview ahead before your green card. Filing a petition means you have to sit and wait until your date becomes current. The OP just said he filed paperwork and not what forms or where he is in the process of adjusting. Both steps require paperwork and both require a fee so I am not a psychic to know where is in the process.

Entire process:

-File petition
-Wait for priority date to become current
-You file for i-485 once it becomes current
-You get a response from the government telling you that they would like to interview you
-You attend interview
-Official decides whether you are approved or not
-If approved he submits request for your green card
-Green card arrives in mail shortly after

This process is for people who came EWI and have an i-245. Otherwise your process is different and you must leave the country. I forgot to specify, but once you filed your i-485 then you wait about one month or so before you get an interview date.
