Hi,

I received both of my approval letters today ( not the EAD card), the 821D notice is perfect however, the EAD approval notice had my maternal last name spelled wrong Rogue instead of Roque, its over on the ,mailing portion of the letter. My question is do you think they'll make the same mistake on the EAD card or was it just a typical spelling error when giving out the letters? Does the EAD follow the Applicant name format from the receipt?

For those who received their EADs, did USCIS spelled your maternal last name or just put 1 letter?

Thank you very much

From what I've read, those who received a spelling error on their EAD didn't have it on their approval letters.

What a hassle... You would think that USCIS will catch a mistake like that but I guess they don't. Hopefully it's just your approval letters and not your EAD.

wow why can't they just leave you alone..you waited like 6 months for your approval. if they did spell your name wrong on your EAD its proof that USCIS hates you.

You waited 6 months and they couldn't get your name right? That's some bs. But it is pretty awesome that your middle name was Rogue. Haha

Ugh that's effing terrible. If your last name is spelled incorrectly on your EAD, go ahead and get the SSN, your license and ID, etc etc, then send it back. It will take 2-3 months for them to fix and return it.

Once you get your new EAD then go back to social security and the DMV and whatnot to fix your name. Better to drive with a mispelled name.

Although, since it's your maternal last name, I wonder if social security even cares, or maybe you can ask them not to include it. Not sure, but I heard they didn't care about middle names. Not sure about maternal last names.
