well it really dependds how much you pay, you should go speak to an account. hmm if you have an family accountant or know an accountant personally, ask them if theres a way you can file for small amount for income tax. i reported around 2gs for income as a part timer and paid couple hundred bucks for income tax. believe it or not i was able to receive 40 bucks in return lol. higher the income you file the more you pay the more your going to recieve i guess.

brenda, if you report you income using form 1040 (i think) which is the one used on those people who get paid cash or "off the books", you will have to pay no matter what. So you better start saving because everything has to be paid in full by April 15th.

Brenda, today I went to H&R Block to do my taxes. I was talking to the lady about the ITIN and she said that from now on they will only give ITINs to those who do their taxes. That means that if you want an ITIN you need to do your taxes this year. If I was you I would wait until next year to open your bank account.

But I would recommend you to talk to someone who does taxes. I know they will know more than I do about this matter.

You can always get a back account at wellsfargo with a matricula. Some banks accept matricula and a passport, others do want a tax id. I have a wellsfargo account and I don't have a tax id. It's a checkings account and they give you a debit card, it's a good way to save money. And I think it's $25 extra to open a savings account, but I'm not sure. WM bank does ask for a tax id, Bank of American only asks for Matricula(ID) and a passport, some branches may ask for a tax ID depending on the manager, but some will let it go. I hope that helps.

If you're Mexican and have a birth certificate of your country (Mexico), you can get a matricula pretty easy. Maybe it's true for other places besides Mexico, but that's all I know of this so far.
