Yesterday, I opened up an account with PNC bank. I had another bank before but now they charge a maintenance fee, so I decided to switch banks. The representative assisting me, throughout the process of opening my account, kept mentioning fraud. As if, assuming, I was opening an account for fraudulent reasons. Wtf?! I guess she was stereotyping because i showed her my mexican passport. Instead of leaving that bank feeling good. I felt shitty because its just as bad as someone accusing you of stealing when you haven't. I dunno what to do, I feel like calling the company to complain but I hate bothering myself over stupid things. Should I let it go?

Move on....dealing with bigots can be a waste of time. Heads up: major banks are now charging service fees. I suggest banking with a community bank or credit union. Republic Bank, Archer Bank, Bank of Internet, Guaranty Bank, among others do not charge service fees nor do they require those bogus requirements to "waive fees".

Yeah, I agree. Well, this bank is regional so I don't get charged a maintenance fee.

Ebanking with Bank of America...you have to do everything through the atm. If you use the teller or customer service, they will charge you the fee.

sigh... banks suck. I'm still hunting for a new one, but seems being a customer of a bank that I've had for years is better than getting a new one.

I think I'll try the local bank suggestion. I hope they take me.

if anyone going the e-bank route, I strongly recommend Bank of Internet, because you can withdraw at any ATM nationwide for free. Bank of America will charge you if you withdraw at a non-Bank of America ATM. So heads up on that.

I would walk in there and be like the other day I was here and I felt you treated me very poorly. I will like to cancel my account. Take your money and go some place else. I bank with WF but I started with a student account and so I have no fees at all. They keep asking me to change that, but hell nah. I don't ever walk in there. I just use the atm.

lol, If you are a Spanish speaker, ask for a Spanish speaking teller. That might get rid of a lot of the bigotry

But if you're as prideful as I am you'll probably want to avoid that all together.
