I got my ssn card mid November last year. It's mid-March and I dont think my social security number is in the system yet. When I put my ssn it says it could not be verified.. Does anyone know how long the process takes in order for the SSN to be in the system? thanks.

I received mines on Feb, and last time I check (two weeks ago) when I went to get a replacement card (name incorrect) and they told me I'm not in the system yet, thus they have to verify my info with DHS again for the new card.

Basically, yeah, that's government efficiency for you.

Okay I tried it and at first I input both my paternal and maternal last names since they both appear on my EAD and SSN and it wouldn't let me go to the next step.

So then I tried it using only my paternal last name and it went through. This makes me wonder if it'll be an issue with employers.
