Employment Background Check issues...

Hi guys... So i have a question... I need help!

I recently applied to a big apparel retailer as a sales associate...

I had my interview monday, and they sent me a background check request. So, I submitted the background check through a web site or agency called HireRight.

However, here comes the trouble... the screening said, SSN Validation Failed...

It says at the end of the screening that either my SSN was not correct or it was issued after June 24, 2011, and they cannot validate SSN issued after that date...

I got my SSN in October of 2012 after DACA.

Idk what to do.

I called the manager of the store that I applied, and told him about it.

He told me he will check what they can do about it...

What should I do???

I had to compete against 150 for that position, and I don't want to lose it simply cuz my SSN was issued too late...

You need to get in contact with the company that runs those background checks and explain to them and authenticate that it really is your SSN. I think someone here had the exact same problem and they fixed it that way. Talk to the manager and ask for the name of the company that they use to run those background checks. Good luck to you.

There was a thread about this late last year. I ran into the issue twice. Im on my second job now. I first ran into the issue with Target, they use a company called Lexis Nexus. They were very easy to deal with. They asked for a copy of my EAD, SSN and passport and they resolved the issue the next day and I was cleared to start working. My second job had that same issue. I cant remember the company that does back ground check for them but I sent my documents in. They cleared me within a few days.

did you guys applied online or in person?

I finished my check via Hireright too, I can answer ur question. They will email u to sign a ssn release form. then email em back. thats it, no big deal.

All you will need to do is bring them a print out from the social security office stating that the number is yours, pretty much a verification. You'll be fine, just bring that to them and they'll accept it.

I'm going through a background check for employment with a company called A-Check America, and I am very surprised that they have not informed me of any problems with my ss#. It's taken a week but only because I made a mistake on the application and both my ex-employer and my current employer's numbers were wrong. They kept telling me that my employers weren't answering and both of them said they hadn't gotten any calls. Thankfully I got it fixed this morning and my ex-employer text me saying they called him and everything was good. I wish I could just send my w2/paystubs but at my first job I was paid under the table and at this job my w2 has the wrong social on it so they wouldn't be able to verify me. Hopefully they finish and I get a call from the company I applied for because I'm so anxious to finally get a better paying job!

Okay so just now I got an e-mail from a background check company concerning a background check JCP is doing on me....does this mean I have the chance of finally having a job???

Apparently since my SSN is new there might be some issues too. :/
Anyways, I called right away and the lady asked me several questions. Like name, dob, address, and ssn. Everything was correct and she told me that if they needed anything else they would let me know. Please y'all keep me in your thoughts and prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Means that the company certainly has some interest in you. It cost money to do background check so companies would only do it on individuals they are interested in. So you could potentially be working for them soon.
