Hello to everyone. Just saying hi to fellow people who are in the same situation that I am in. My family migrated here when I was nine because of economic pressures. I went to school and did very well, except during high school because I went into despair because of my situation. I saw my friends and classmates applying for universities, and I not knowing what to do! I wish I had had a mentor or a good counselor to tell me that at I could attend a college or university with no problem(here in California). Finally I found that out and enrolled at a local community college, I've been attending for three years as a part-time student(I also work) and hope to transfer soon to a four year university. Anyways, I"m really hoping this legislation will pass as it will pave the way for many of us to go to school and be able to enter the job market.

I'm from So. Cal. and ever since I've been at my local community college I've wished there was a club where immigrants could band together and put pressure on local congressmen and the community and also create a network for us to find ways to make this country a bit of a better place for us. Anyone know of any clubs at any universities that do this?

Most likely M.E.C.H.A.
