Hey Everyone,
Hope this post finds all of you with great hope and having a good week. I have been applying for jobs in my field, and I right now I am so discouraged.

I have an interview on May 8th, but I am in great need of a job right now. The negative for me is the lack of experience in the industry; my resume looks strong academically, but not for work experience. I guess I am having one of those doubtful days... How is your job search coming along? Any positive experiences?

Best,

I haven't gotten an interview yet. I am applying for jobs in my field, I'm not discouraged yet. But the hunting continues...

I also have the same issue, I don't have any experience in my field. So trying to get a entry-level job. It would have been easier if it was straight out of college, had more contacts and network back then.

I've sent about 50+ resumes since I got approved and have only had 4 interviews and one call back but it didn't work. I have 2 interviews tomorrow. I'm in the same boat as you, strong academics but no work experience... Just hang in there! Did you do any volunteer/internships? See if you can get a letter of recommendation from someone.

Yes, being in school is much easier, as we have many ways to network. When I graduated from school, I had seven job offers at that time; one company even tried to sponsored me. I ended turning them down due to my lack of status. Then I decided to go and get a masters in the meantime, but again, it took 5 months to get approved, and by this time, I felt like I lost the few contacts I had while being in the program.... Now, I am starting again from the bottom... Hang in there...

Wow, you must have tons of faith to keep up smiling! I hope your interviews go well today! No, I don't have interships in my field, but I do have two letters of recommendation that are strong as I did a major overhaul project for a company while getting a certification. I almost had a job, but I couldn't pass the recruiter who forwhatever reason didn't like my the idea of my current status. There is a job for everyone; keep up the good work!

I too, have sent my resume lots of times, and have received only 2 unsuccessful interviews due to lack of experience ("we'll call you" but never actually do) and recently yesterday got an express interview for a logistics company (like 3 miles away from my home) , and said "Personal Office Assistant" position and the pay rate starting at 18 DLS/hour!! from M-F (8am- 5pm).

I explain on my interview that I only had my EAD and yet had to wait for my actual SSC (which is on the mail right now) and wait to get my ID/DL, and he said "No problem, once you get all your documents we''ll get you into the system". I am so happy!

This is awesome!! It was a good thing I got rejected at the first two interviews, God had something better for me and my Family.

Good LUCK to everyone out there having trouble getting a job! Keep up the good energy!
