maybe not desperate enough, they wont allow undocs to sign-up here in Nellis AFB, in Nevada, b/c i heard stories about other armed forces recruiting undocs in other parts of the nation, i thought i should give it a shot here in Nevada, and well i tried but i got DENIED!!..I have no plans on joining armed forces unless maybe if its a medical job, but if it helps get me my legal status changed faster, then im all for it

I got a call from the Navy today actually, i usually just tell them off but this time i decided to sound interested and mention that i'm out of status and waiting for the DREAM before joining (probably not gonna happen, but at least i'll listen to what they have to say). Surprisingly the guy told me that they were aware of it and even tried to schedule a meeting so i would be ready when it passes. Of course, i just gave him a bullshit story about how i was "only focusing on right now" until something passes in congress but the dude gave me his number anyway.


I did give him my address and some personal info though but i'm not really worried since i figure they're so desperate they would never drive away a potential future recruit (plus, i'm not gonna fucking lie to the US Military lol)

I think that the military recruitment aspect of Dream has been sorely overlooked, and come September, we need to reiterate and emphasize the fact the our armed forces are in need of help, and that there are some of us affected by Dream willing to join, but are not given the opportunity. The military aspect, unlike the education aspect of Dream, is subject to a lot less controversy and opposition because there's just no denying that the war is still ever-present and troops are needed. So I think a military awareness campaign to spread the word might be an idea, just a thought though.
