My intention for this thread is for older dreamers to share their experience with DACA applications. Also to share what they want to do after an approval. I'm currently 25, live in FL, and waiting for my approval.

I'm still waiting on my application. My plans are to go back to school. Even though i have an AA degree, i still need to take some classes so that i can transfer directly into the college of engineering at UF, so i'll probably have to wait a year for that as well since they don't offer tuition waivers. I thought about getting my engineering degree on FIU, since they do offer tuition waivers, but unless i go to UF afterwards for masters, I don't think an engineering degree from FIU will do me much good. Or i might end up studying something else in FIU. Also, last time I was in school it was back in 2007 so i'm gonna audit a few of the courses i already took because I don't remember a lot of it. Then i'll probably move out of state, hopefully with a green card woohoo!

I want to join the military as well , or at least go back to school. I haven't been able since I help out my family a lot with money and I cannot afford to pay tuition.

It's nice to have these "problems" on what to do. I never really thought much about them because the future was freaking bleak, but suddenly it's all bright. I'm 27 by the way. FIU offers tuition waivers so you can start attending immediately after getting DACA and you qualify for whatever financial aid they have that is not exclusively for LPR/USC.

At the end of everything this wait and struggle will be all worth it. What part of FL are you from.

I've been going to school continuously since graduation, 2006. I've hopped around a few majors and have set into Electrical Engineering. I hope to join the Air Force since I was hopelessly denied after I graduated. I've had various jobs throughout the years, from sales associate to network administrator. Although, lately it's been getting extraordinarily hard to find a job that doesn't go through the E-Verify process. That alone made my Emergency Medical Technician license useless. So, for the time being, I will keep going to school transfer back to my local university (from which I was recently re-accepted into) and gain a STEM degree.

26, FL and still waiting for DACA

Graduated from college five years and have been patiently waiting. To be honest, I was ready to go back to my home country last year, but DACA came out of nowhere.
I initially wanted to be a Dentist, but at this point I'm focusing on plan B, which is PA school. Dental school doesn't seem realistic at this point b/c of my status.
