I want to learn how to develop an app, seems awesome. Anyone familiar with this ?

Some explanation


Eclipse

Eclipse is basically an IDE. And what an IDE is an integrated development environment. Think of it Word when you type down and the final product is the printed documented, it doesn't matter how many errors you make as you can change it. It compiles your code, and spell-checks it as well for any errors you may have while developing. IDEs are EXTREMELY useful and I recommend them for any kind of development project period. Eclipse has built in support for Android which other IDEs do not, so even if you come from a C# background or something and want to use Visual Studio, too bad. Use Eclipse.

Android SDK

This is the code that makes the magic happen. Installing this onto your computer and configuring it with Eclipse gives you the power to develop for Android.

Install both programs from the 2 links, then on Eclipse click on AVD Manager, you need to make an actual environment of android to begin developing, so we are going to create a simulator using this. Click the New Button once you are on AVD Manager and create a virtual device from the android versions we downloaded earlier

Lol, developing an app isn't exactly easy. You have to teach yourself a programming language. That itself will take a couple months at least (w/persistent learning). After that, get used to the SDK in which you develop an app. A moderately complex app can easily take you weeks. If it was easy, everyone would have their own developed apps.

Yes, its $25 to register with google. You can charge for your app or you can make it free and support it with ads.

Make sure you use an android emulator before testing it on a real phone...
