I765 Before I821D?, how is that for weird.

Finally today i received that oh so very long awaited text message from USCIS but... it was for my I765 app. Which was approved while my I821d is still in purgatory, or as is known in this forum "initial review". So I call them and they fumbled around, doing god knows what (my money is in strangling puppies) to finally tell me to just wait it out and that I will receive my card. So i have a few questions: Has this happened to anybody? When applying to all the goodies that come with being legally illegal (S.S, Drivers license, etc) do I need the I821D proof of approval? When will this grin in my face start to wind down? Any info much appreciated and I'll keep you updated.

This happens to about 99% of the applicants.

It's very common for the I-765 to update first before the I-821D. It doesn't mean that they didn't look over your I-821D before granting you an EAD. The I-821D will update to approved anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours.

Yes this is normal, your I821D will be approved in the next hours.. I didn't need my Daca approval just my EAD.. Congrats
