Currently unemployed, I've applied virtually everywhere besides McDonalds. I think I need to get off my ass and walk around to see if anyone is hiring.

Try applying at the workforce commission website of your state (for Texas is www.workintexas.com), you might have some luck there. Also, if in need, you might also consider an employment agency.

I just got a job at a customer service company, I didnt even bother applying anywhere else because my friends work there... I think the key to getting a job is connections!
ask around with your friends, or family the employer is more likely to hire you because of a reference!!!

I am starting to hit employment agencies too. It is not desirable but I must do something! Also I am also going to start volunteering at the local theather soon.
Applying online is usually a NO because I have no experience so actually going and talking to people is a better option.

Tough luck here also.

If you don't know someone who can hook you up where they're working at, it's quite difficult to get a job anywhere besides fast food places.
