I didn't do so good on the placement test and got placed in elementary algebra. And i'm conflicted if i should take the summer school to try and catch up but problem is money's kind of tight at the moment. Should i do it? or just wait till fall semester starts

Are you good at math? or are you confident you can get at least a B in a 6 week course vs a 10-13 week course?

Second can you get the money. I think it evens out since you are still paying for the class in the fall. If you pass it you will be paying for another class but you will be ahead.

If this is in a uni or college and you placed into that then yes, you should hurry and attempt to make an effort to catch up as that is 2 to 3 semesters behind where you should be starting. If you are going to a uni, then consider taking it at a community college for savings. If you're going to a community college then consider it taking it anyway. Some unis also offer those courses free for fall incoming students over the summer to try and get them started on time and not behind from the get go. So if you're going to a uni call up and ask about that. If going to a community college then make an effort to take it. I know community college fees are quite cheap around here for like 150 to 200 dollars for part time during the summer.

If you invest 1Hr a day studying 'Vedic Mathematics' it is possible for you to elevate your self to a math wiz within 3months, you will be able to multiply large numbers i.e. 746x847 within 3secounds using your magnificent brain!

Here's an introduction

You can get free tutorials here I would advice you to shun summer school, take responsibility to improve your math skills by educating yourself with the resource provided. Since money is tight, you can utilize the time you would spend in summer school, to earn $ome.

If you're really bad at math don't take it during Summer... But if you're ONLY gonna take this class and not work at all or take another class you should be able to pass it. If you want to pass intermediate algebra you have to be an expert at elementary algebra, so you pretty much have to learn everything!!!

If it hadn't been for this guy I don't think I could've passed intermediate algebra (which I'm sure you'll have to take). Don't forget all the resources Youtube offers.

Study hard. Use purplemath website. You can retake the placement test once more in my community college. I also did bad in math because when I went for that I was like 4 years out of HS and I studied some and will retake it before fall semester.

Also library whether college library or a public library has to have good math books. Teach yourself visually and for dummies are easy to understand.

Math at this level may be difficult but very logical and something you can "get" if you do many sample problems and have a solution manual. Really math is good and dare I say fun right until about Calculus II. It's all downhill after that when you get in Linear Algebra and beyond. So fear not. Just practice practice practice.
