One place the Altards will not gain much sympathy is from the educated crowd, more specifically the educators.

I think -- even though it is very late in the game -- we should send mass emails to the faculty of many different high schools, colleges, universities and the such asking for them to call and support the Dream Act.

I know if we write a decent letter directed towards just this effort we can get several of the teachers that really believe in their jobs, in their students and just really love what they do to support us on Monday.

Can someone draft a letter to be used? I know my limits and know I would not be able to produce anything that would make a teacher go "hum that could be one of my students... what would I do it if were and how can I help to make sure it never has to be!"

Please post draft letters and if we can a good one by the end of the day I will mass email Saturday and Sunday.

Also if at all interested DO NOT POST SCHOOLS TO EMAIL ON HERE!

You should add administrators of schools to that list ( prinicipals, superintendents, shcool boards ) and you should emphasize how it would increase attendence because kids wouldn't feel hopeless about their future. Schools get their money off of daily attendence - they lose huge chunks if kids start showing up sporadically when they are 15 because they have no shot at a future.

Thanks to the both of you. I am gathering the lists right now, and someone was nice enough to forward their personal story which i will edit and formulate into something more specific to fit this theme. If anyone wants to help gathering emails message me and I'll give you a school to do as to prevent double lists. Thanks anyways!

Right Now I'm doing the schools in my state with large immigrant populations. I also plan on doing this for surrounding states. PM your list and letter. I'd like to help.

People please do this!!!!!!!!!!
You can find the emails over the weekend.
Just search for the emails of high school guidance counselors around your area or neighboring states.
Plus, quaker could use help too so PM him if you have time.

A quick bump and update

we have 4.5k emails now, i was hoping for just 5k by send off tomorrow but at this rate we can have 10k without a problem.

We still need more admistrators and upper level staff like the such, so please search em out in your schools, paste it to a word doc and email me the word doc. I'll extract the actual email addresses out so you don't have to copy and paste individual emails. Just be sure to sort/title them by school.

Thanks everyone!
