there are rumors the both Dream and the Skill bill (drafted by Cornyn) will be introduce as a single amendment. Can anyone confirm this?

I am keeping my fingers crossed ...

You give us Skil we give you Dream ...How is that ....

Generally speaking, SKIL would exempt from annual visa caps those who have a master's or higher from the U.S., special medical workers, workers in fields with shortages, and a masters in the tech or science fields. There are other categories, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Cornyn has always loved high-skilled and educated workers, which is why he favors DREAM with a degree requirement and not simply having attended college for two years.

numbers usa is actually for skill? i'd be surprised if that was true.

but i wouldn't mind adding a degree provision to DREAM (how hard is it to get an AA degree). and adding skil to that too. i think it all has the same general goal of adding an educated work force to the US.

if indeed they both get attached together for passage on the dod bill, the better for us. having cornyn vote for this amend. will surely bring other repubs. along since this guy is very influential in the senate. also it shows the hypocracy of cornyn, he said dream is not pertinent to the dod bill, but i guess skill is?

I checked numbersusa and didn't see any mention of skil being voted together with dream.

Not to give this any more merit but the a staffer who could always be depended on to know nothing about DREAM said something about how it was being attached to H-1b visa thing too. I didn't think much of it because this person is always spewing out incorrect information. Just for kicks I tried calling him about another amendment and he didn't even know what it was (despite it being on every news show possible). Maybe they got this from him.
