Hi guys,

I'm sending a letter to one of the senators and would love to hear how has DACA improved your life. It would be great to include a little background information as well. The more detail the better.

In addition, I would like to read how the passing of immigration reform would take the positive experiences from DACA and extend them further.

I want to see were you guys stand and get more point of views rather than mine alone.

Thanks in advance.

The biggest difference that DACA has made in my life is being able to drive. It was the one thing I needed and wanted to do badly for my job, school, etc . It definitely has changed who I am just by being able to drive. I became more confident. Before I would let myself down because everyone else was driving and I couldn't even go get a drivers' license. I would love to travel to other countries but that's not a necessity for me right now. Just being able to drive has made a big difference in my life.

The second question can be a little bit controversial though... On this forum asking for more is, sometimes, seen as being ungrateful.

I applied August 15th, 2012 and received my Deferred Action and EAD on October 5th (my birthday) .

With DACA my life has changed tremendously.

I was able to apply to a Nursing program at my College and was accepted. I will be beginning Nursing School in September and after 3 years, I will hopefully have my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Without DACA, I would not be able to completely my clinical rotations which required work authorization in the United States.

After about 2 weeks of receiving my EAD, I got my Social Security Number and immediately began looking for a job. After filling out applications to anywhere I could think for an entire day, I received 1 call back from a retail company for an interview. After the interview, about 2 hours later, I received a call back from saying I received the job.
Fast forward 8 months to today: Last week I was promoted and will begin working in my new position next month.

I can drive a car with peace of mind. I can show a Legal US Identification when needed. I have a Social Security Number. I have 2 Credit Cards. I have a stable, easy job. I go to College full time. I am studying to become what I've strived for since graduating High School.

DACA has changed my life in many more ways than I can think of and there's no way to show how grateful I am that we were to be given this opportunity.

I'm able to drive. I have a social security number. I can apply for loans for school. I can work. There is just so much that's different, I couldn't be more thankful.
