I am like 98% sure since I have never been near one that border patrol was at the Home Depot. I was on my way to work this morning and while on the freeway you can see the Home Depot. Well I like to always look at the people there because they help me get through the day and I become more thankful everyday. Well I took a look and I saw a big bus it looked like a gray bus right on the parking lot but not close enough to the Home Depot but this is where the guys always stand. Well the area was cleared out and next to the bus was a man in a gray uniform holding one of those sticks they like to beat up people with. Is this legal? I seriously thought it was illegal.

Are you talking about the Sunset Park Home Depot in New York? I heard there was some sort of massive ICE operation in that area in the last few days.

I wonder if this was the operation in Southern California.
Quote:
Federal officers in Southern California over the last two weeks have arrested more than 1,300 immigrants, most of whom either have criminal records or have failed to abide by deportation orders -- part of an intensifying but controversial effort across the nation to remove such violators.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which plans to announce the operation at a news conference in Los Angeles today, called the sweep the largest of its kind in the U.S. Nearly 600 of those arrested at homes, workplaces and in jails have already been deported.

No I live in Houston, TX. I know they do this in other states but I thought it was illegal here.

Uhhh,If it was a Border Patrol officer what state they are in wouldn't matter since BPs are Federal officers, they do not adhere to state laws.I am not sure of the legality in this instance, however those sticks that they beat people with are called Batons.

I don't think it is illegal, I've seen that too, (the guy with a stick) and I know what you feel when you see that, but I understand the officer has to do that to perform his job and for his safety, I know some of the immigrants aren't criminals but people do desperate things in desperate situations.

I think the guys in gray are employees of a private transportation company hired by the government to transport immigrants.
