Ross Employment question

Hey guys, well my cousin applied at Ross and today she got a called that she got the job but that her Social Security was not showing up on the system. They have told her she has until friday to prove she can work legally. She mentioned that she has the EAD card and drivers license but they told her she needs to show some sort of Visa. What can she do guys?

Tell the employer that he is a dumb ass?

Do they even know what an EAD is? Did she tell them employment authorization document? I fail to see how an employment authorization document is not proof that you can work legally.

My only guess here is she said: "I have an EAD" and they thought it was some form of ID but not that it was an employment document. How about she goes and shows it to them and then see what they say?

Do you know what company they used for the background check?

Well, the company my employer uses is not the same as the one Ross uses so i cant help you.

Just ask the HR guy at work.

I know ross used e-verify for employment verification and if the something didn'tmatch they give you a paper on what steps to take and then u go to the social security administration to correct any issues

E-Verify is a pain...make sure the I-9 is filled correctly and ask HR if they actually filled E-Verify correctly (I've used it, mistakes happen). Also, your EAD should be enough to verify employment.
