realize it.

Well some guy in Reno decided to put the mexican flag above the American flag which of course, is amazingly disrespectful but is not actually illegal (no matter what *they* say, and even if it was, it wouldn't detract from their self ownage). So, an angry veteran decides to come in, take the mexican flag down, and steal the American flag, daring anyone to take it from him. Now, i admit what this guy did was pretty awesome, however, by stealing the flag he committed a crime. Of course *they* are treating him as a god and a hero right now, and are even planning on supporting him if charges come up against him.

BU BU BUT ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL

WHAT HAPPENED TO NOT CONDONING OR REWARDING REWARDING ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR??

WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL DOES ALIPAC NOT UNDERSTAND

LMAO. I'm not going to go on their site to post this but seeing as they check this site anyways, i know they'll get the message.

It's not illegal to fly a foreign flag above an American flag?

I thought it was...

Quote:
No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this section shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior prominence or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal prominence or honor, with that of the flag of the United States at the headquarters of the United Nations.
Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 7C of the US Flag Regulations Code [ http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagetiq.html#5 ].

Of course, the ACLU is going to argue that this law is merely "advisory" but the point is that it is still written into law.

No, it's true, That is just a code, not an actual law, and it is meant to be followed by government agencies and such, not private citizens (seeing as preventing them from showing whichever flag they want is a violation of the 1st amendment). There was a discussion about this in another forum i post at. Again, even if it was illegal, Alicrap is still glorifying someone who openly committed a crime
