Hi everyone!
I have a question on traveling with Advance Parole.
I filed forAP and got the approval on July 1st.
I am going to travel to South Korea to visit my grandmother before she passes away and planning on returning before school starts in fall.

My question is, is it okay for me to go to South Korea before the documents arrive in mail? (going to Korea without the documents).

Are the documents required when I am leaving U.S?

Then have my family mail the documents to Korea while I am there, so I can have it with me when I return to U.S.?

I have been waiting for it to come by mail for 9 days, but I have to be in Korea real soon, so I have no time to wait.

Thank you in advance!

Wait for it. You need to show it when you come back in. Let me know of the experience. I am also planning to apply one for it as well. Good luck! BTW, are you a guy? If so, did you take care of your military issue?

I don't think I'd try that. What if the documents get lost in the mail or take longer to arrive than expected? Yikes.

if i'm correct, the AP NOA will have a time frame in which your AP is good for. in terms of you being able to leave and when you would need to return to the US by. i think it would be best to wait for the actual approval letter because you may need to show it when you land and go through Customs when you get back and you may even need to show it when you leave seeing how you are flying out of the US. also, i would take copies of your approval letters along with your EAD and your passport because your passport will be stamped.

Yeah I understand I need to show it when I come back in.
That's why I thought I can bring it in when my family mails it to me while I am in Korea.
And no I'm not a guy.
Thank you!

USCIS decides how long you can stay abroad?

Thank you for answering!
Does anyone know how long it takes for the mail to arrive after the approval date?
When I usually received mails from the Nebraska Service Center, I received it in 3-4 days.
But it's been 9 days, and I'm starting to get worried it got lost.
I heard mail deliveries can be delayed because of holidays, and it was Fourth of July in between the 1st and today.
I hope it comes by this weekend.
