when the media like broadcast media precisely, talks about the dream act, it always come with the title AMNESTY. Besides taht, it really pisses me off that while they talk about it, they present pictures of people jumping the border...ughh!!! it gets me pissed off because they are talking about people pursuing education or service to this country..it's an opportunity to people that speak good-fluent english, educated, and look no different from the rest!!! not some 35 yr. beaner guy that has his right leg over the border..it really throws their viewers off to think that this is for those people..AARRGGHH!! it's for us.. why dont they put clips of graduates or schools or at least something like taht helps out the cause..(never happening in this racist country) i always see that...everytime..a clip of someone jumping the border while they talk about DREAM...sure.. the USCIS is gonna be waiting under the sun in a little tent with a huge banner "PAPELES AQUI CABRONES"..all you have to do is cross it..

sorry if it offended some.. it's how i feel and it's okay to vent here right??"...sigh...

That's why we need more publicity on Juan =D And others like him who have deportation orders should talk to the media more often so people won't be misled by those dumb images of some Mexican dude hopping over the borders.

You know, I think many people oppose the DREAM Act because they have a false view of it, thanks much to the media.

i jumped the border when i was 14, not ashamed of it...but kind of offended...the only difference between u and me, is that u came here legally, i didn't...but we had the same purpose, stay here. The fact that i jumped the border with my family does not make me someone without class, or uneducated or someone who does not speak English, or that has a crappy English.

I get your point I DO, but i get the feeling that if you had been born here, you would be in the other forum.

We all need to remember no one is "better" than anyone else.
Hell, in the real world most of the anti-immigration crowd is below my socioeconomic status but here I am without a status.
We all come from different backgrounds.
I think the people who crossed the border are braver and more patriotic because they risked their lives just to be a part of this country.
I get kind of mad when people say they think only DREAM should pass and not CIR, and say they should learn English (keep in mind I come from a family of native English speakers). They want to learn, it's not like they are choosing not to, it's just hard when you work 80hours a week to provide for your family so one day their kids can attend college and not go though everything they went through!

So, let's just be careful what we say.

We all come from different backgounds but in the end we're all human beings.

Thank you! God, so many people do not get this. There are also a lot of people who speak some English but are embarrassed of it, and so the rest of us never find out. And then there are people like my brother and law, who is so proud of the handful of words he knows in English. The idiots who say people are refusing to learn English are ridiculous. Maybe five people out of the 12 million here are stupid enough to refuse; the rest just don't get the chance to.

Yeah, there really is no difference between crossing the border and and overstaying a visa.

Advocating for CIR is not the same thing as advocating for an open border policy. We all want an immigration policy that is fair, orderly, and humane.

I do agree with you that DREAM should be separate and pass on its own.
