so back in 2005 i had an account with WAMU and it got closed because I owed like $300 something to the bank.

well, i havent paid it off. my question is, can i still open a bank account with any bank?

i didnt have an ITIN or use a fake social to open the other account.

It would probably be under a consumer report that banks use. Not sure how many other reporting agencies there are, but my bank uses ChexSystems in order to look at a person's prior accounts.

Its free, you can request a report from them. https://www.consumerdebit.com/consum...s/en/index.htm

Same thing happened to my brother, he opened another account months later with another bank, no issues whatsoever.

My sister who is a US citizen owed money to the bank because she is very irresponsible. She also had WAMU, she opened another bank account with a different bank with no problem. Word of advice pay off your debts cause in the long run it does affect you. My sister has horrible debts and bad credit.

It's people nowadays. No matter if you are USC, LPR or whatever. They think a credit card is just 'free' money, that they don't have to repay. Same thing with bankruptcy. The fact that people don't 'make numbers' before buying things is appalling. Sometimes people can't afford to buy certain things or for example, a house, and then they complain when their property gets foreclosed, and they b!tch and moan about it.
