Hey guys, not sure if any of you remember me, I've been forum reader here since 2010. I also posted here about a year ago to tell you guys about how I came out as "undocumented" to my longtime boyfriend.

I am freaking ecstatic at the moment, as today was our adjustment of status interview in Phoenix AZ, and I got APPROVED!

It was a relatively short process, my husband and I got married in March, sent in the paperwork in April, and now we are just waiting for the card to arrive in the mail!!

I entered with inspection with a B1/B2/BCC as a small kid, left the country like half a million times, came back just as many, successfully renewed my visa after overstaying when I turned 15 (don't know how my parents pulled that one off) so I was very nervous about the interview because of that AND my parents lost my last I-94.... and that is needed as "proof of legal entry and inspection"....

She didn't mention any of that. The IO just asked me when I came in, I told her the date I last came in and she just took my word for it.

The IO was nice, but she still had the "immigration stinger" I don't know how else to explain it, that's just what my husband and I came up with.
It's like she was nice, until she asked for specific information and my husband gave her one of these (He has the worst memory ever) and then she used her stern voice....but then she would switch to her "happy good cop" voice a split second later. A little weird, but I don't really care. She said she recommended for approval before we left, then it got approved right as we got in the car to get back home (got the text notification).

So, my husband and I are celebrating tonight. It feels freaking awesome.
I feel so so so lucky. I wish everyone got to fix things like was able to.
Although it was a pain in the ass, I am glad I was undocumented because of what I learned. I learned to appreciate things a million times more.
I will still be keeping an eye out as I always have for everyone who still hasn't been able to get things straightened out.

Now, I'm off to drink some fancy shit. woop woop.

Congrats!!!

My case is very similar to you, so I hope when I get my chance it'll go as easy as yours.

Would you mind sharing an indepth process of what overstays who are looking to get married should do (a big time line would be nice) in order to adjust status?
