[TX] FAFSA/TASFA Question

Okay, before some of you go off on me about us DACA approved students can't get of that FASFA monaayy let me just ask my question. Friday I went to the community college I want to attend, went to the admission office, talked to the lady and she started asking questions etc. Well before she got to me about my legal status I just told her I was under the DACA. She was like what is that? So I explained but she didn't quite understand so she got up and went to ask someone else. She came back and said Oh I think you are under the Dream Act xD. Anyways , got to the Financial Aid stuff, she told me she just wasn't sure if I was eligible for FAFSA so she is like run to the Financial Aid office and ask them if you can take a number. Ok so I went and asked her and she said no but you are eligible for TASFA (I believe she said) and she gave me a FAFSA booklet thingy to fill out and take some copies of my tax trascrips and also my parents. I'm wondering should I fill it up anyways and take all my papers to her? Or should I have gotten something different that says TASFA (or something else).
Either way I think I am not eligible for anything, not even TASFA since I believe one of the requirements is to be here 3 years before graduating from HS. Well, I graduated in another state! [FL] . I been in TX since 2010 and I have been working for most of the time ever since. However, am I just wasting my time filling this FAFSA papers and making all these copies of my selective services, tax trascrips (which are not even here yet, should get them in the mail this week), proof I been working (check stubs) etc etc? I am planning on going this saturday to take my Accuplacer exam but I don't know if I should just tell her my situation about not even graduating from a TX highschool? What do you TX folks think?

They use the same form. Fill it out. They process your app different, but they use the Fasfa worksheet.

you know coming from an education institution they should prepare their employees a lil better "you're under the Dream Act" .." there is no DREAM ACT.

You can file either. I filed TASFA one year and FAFSA the next and I received the same amount of money. I'm not sure what the policy is right now but for an undocumented student in Texas to receive in-state tuition they need to have lived in texas for 3 years before going to college and have graduated from a Texas high school. I had to get a document notarized to show that I met all the requirements. I'm not sure if this effects financial aid though.

I believe you don't qualify because you didn't graduate from a TX high school and that is one of the requirements under the TX Dream Act sb1528.
