As much as I would have liked to have arnold sign the california dream act, I saw it coming from him. However, we must continue our efforts for attainment of Dream Act. I attend the California Maritime Academy it would have been nice to be able to apply for financial aid, but it would be nicer to have legal status. I say to us "California" students to not loose our drive and keep fighting for what we belief in (Dream Act). These coming weeks are going to be crucial for getting Dream Act on the senate's agenda therefore we must all keep calling and voicing our concerns to congress.

I got this message from Face Book:
Hi DREAM Act Supporters,

We MUST Combat the anti-immigrant wave of fear and hate!!

Spear-headed by the Center for Community Change, an effort to combat the volume of calls the anti-immigrant groups make to congress will be waged on college campuses on Oct. 22, 23, and 24. Will your campus be one of them? Check out the message below from Nicola from the Center For Community Change and please talk it over with your group to see if this is something (not very time intensive) you can do to help make the DREAM Act a reality!! Drop me a line on facebook or through email at [email protected] for more information but please sign up if you are down!

Greetings,

We all know that anti-immigrants in organizing calls into congress... and they've done a great job at using this tactic to fight the DREAM Act.

Well, we're pushing back, and we need the help of each and everyone of you!!! We've only got until November 16th to make sure the DREAM Act passes.

October 22, 23, 24
NATIONAL STUDENT Call-in DAYS FOR DREAM!

Sure you've heard this before... BUT what makes this action stand out? and why should you get involved?

1) We're organizing on facebook to make this thing go viral, if you have a profile- check us out at : http://swarthmore.facebook.com/event...id=22280285005, or better yet - become my friend! You don't have to be on facebook to get involved - just shoot me an email at [email protected].

2) For this event, hundreds of students are standing in solidarity with DREAM youth to say, this isn't just about you, it's about all of us- Educational Equality for All!!!

3) We're gonna shut down some major phone boards in congress--- the anti-immigrants have been KILLING us on the phone calls, this is a our jab back.... BUT it can only work if we have your help

HERE IS OUR ASK

1) If you know a kid on a college campus near you who could set up a table for a few hours and ask their fellow students to make phone calls into their local congress people, please have them email me, or share the facebook link with them

2) PLEASE help us get the word out about this event through your sites, your friends, and your networks... even if you've been out of college for , ahem, a few months, I'm sure you still have connections to somebody somewhere who knows a kid who could do this.

3) If you have any ideas of how to make this better, shoot me an email, we're always looking to innovate!!

How is he horrible??? Didn't he just sign a bill into law barring landlords from asking the immigration status of their tenants?? Hasn't he called for comprehensive immigration reform????? Don't you cali kids already have instate tuition???? I can understand why he vetoed the bill.

Guys,
Everyday is important to make calls, however, this days in particular are crucial because hopefully there is going to be a national movement, we need to garner more support for dream to be more succesfull. Lets all be more active, I tried setting up a table at my school but I did not have the support of my fellow-students .

He's not THAT horrible, I don't think he's horrible at all. My friends barely got enough money they need from CalGrant. There's not a lot of money going around for all the legal kids, so I understand why the terminator had to veto the bill. If there were tons of money lying around, maybe he would not have vetoed it. And he signed a legislation that prevented landlords from asking residency status. I think he's doing all he can in regards to illegal immigration.

Gray Davis, the previous governor, was the reason we got in-state tuition. Damn I miss that guy. Maybe he would've signed CA Dream anyway.
