depened on few things. first where are you taking it, how is your prepration? how is inspector? what time you taking the exams.

Do you have to take it in NYC? Why not try to take it in Long Island, or like Westchester? It'll be a huge difference! I drive in the city every other day, but I can't imagine trying to pass a road test.

OP has a very valid reason to ask for uh more useful help/advise. Why? Because literally no one around you follows the 'rules'

No, I haven't but I have experienced the intensity of driving in NYC while sitting in the passenger seat, while mentally in a state of consciousness as if I were the driver numerous times. What I have learned from that experience is to go with the flow, don't resist or you will get over stressed, which will greatly limit your performance when driving.
