Sitting across from me is the operating manager at the studio I work at who is being questioned about everyone's I-9 and other federal paperwork.

I can't tell you how much of a heart attack I would have had this time last year before I got DACA. Now I'm sitting here feeling fine because I can easily provide that I am legal to work.

The questions they ask and the fines associated with not having paperwork up-to-date are odd and insane.

Isn't it amazing? Then big sigh of relief that you're not breaking the law every waking moment of your life.

It's awesome, I don't think I could work in a place were they don't trust their employees though.. at least not permanently , there is just that feeling of distrust, and you are giving them your life.

its actually being done annually or every some years , has nothing to do with trust

This wasn't done by the company on its employees, it was done ON the company and everyone in it. I had nothing to worry about.

But I almost feel bad for the previous 'me', I can't imagine how scared and depressed I would have been.

Thanks, Obama & DACA.

More than likely is an actual USCIS audit, it has nothing to do with 'trust'. The fines regarding these audits are astronomical, literally thousands of dollars in ONE application if it's not done the right way.
