So, am assuming nothing will be processed until they are back to work?

God, I hate Republicans so much.

As far as I've read, since the USCIS runs mostly (again, the way I understand) from the fees collected from the forms, they won't shut down. However, some agencies in which the USCIS depends on might not, so that could delay the process.

According to a immigration lawyer Mario Lobo who gives advice in Despierta America by Univision network. This shut down will affect any pending applications with USCIS.

go to USCIS.gov. It states on their website the shutdown should not affect them. All offices are still open. So they technically should be working. But we know just because something is open doesn't mean the employees are working LOL.

Correct.

As a fee-based agency, USCIS will continue to accept and process applications and petitions. However, it is expected for there to be delays in processing, as some support staff may be furloughed and USCIS depends on non-essential agencies for services.

E-verify will be shut down. Time to tell family members to go apply somewhere lol.

I think it would NOT affect the processing staff at USCIS....but external agencies that USCIS might rely on via the background check could be a bit slower.

It will just be how I mention before they will take the Money as fast as they can but the processes will take even longer than what taking now. like if they don't have people waiting for even a year.
