quite a shame the US is about to bring in 60K refugees and will not pass the dream act....
I had a friend that worked in a state agency that assisted some refugees from Africa...they practically had to train them how to use the restroom...they had never seen a restroom..

The United States has announced that it would resettle 60,000 refugees, and even more if required, while other members of the Core Group consisting of Australia, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Norway have also expressed their desire to take in refugees. Canada has already announced its plan to resettle 5,000 refugees.

I think it's great that the US tries to help people from other nations who really need this. Remember, the whole point of dream not passing was that stupid "rewarding illegal behavior"... That's different from helping people who really really need help in life. This resettlement is a good thing for the refugees.

Of course the screening process will be non-existent, as always.

according to the article, "On arrival in the resettlement country they will have legal permanent residence including the possibility for being citizens of that country in due course, if they so desire."

Let see, 1.) you guys are educated 2.) are not eligible for welfare (no matter what other people claim) 3.) would become productive member of society right away

The refugees - 1.) not educated as you, refugee camps aren't known for their outstanding schools 2.) will be all over welfare once eligible (Hmong refugees/Cuban welfare fraud) 3.) unless they are already educated or have a natural talent for entrepreneurship somebody is going to have to provide some $$$!

No need to judge. They don't have the same opportunities there as opposed to here. Come on now...Oprah Winfrey has to set up schools for them...That's pretty bad when a celebrity has more force than a government. I hope those refugees will achieve their American Dream. As for cheating the government....it's not just Africans. lol.

yeah like I mentioned in my original post - "I had a friend that worked in a state agency that assisted some refugees from Africa...they practically had to train them how to use the restroom...they had never seen a restroom.."

My friend also told me numerous stories like yours but decided not to mention it in my first post.
