So I tried applying at a very well known company for a retail job and the company that conducts their background checks sent me a letter saying I needed to verify my social security for authenticity by sending them a copy of it.

My question is has anyone else had this problem? And is there a way to fix it for future reference? I would hate to apply at other places and have the same thing come up, or be rejected instantly because of it.

1. Your social is new, and it wont come up on any database yet.
2. Yes lots of members here have had issues with background checks, so comply with what they're asking
3. Future reference, get a letter from the SSA, but even then you're still going to have issues with background checks for the first few years.

Yes I applied for the Ritz Carlton Hotel a few week ago and they had me go to a interview and reference check and everything check out ok and I thought the criminal background would be the easy part because I had never commit a crime ( I got approved for the DACA). A few days pass and the HR called me and inform me that my background came back with a error and they could no longer offer the position which I had applied for unless I went to the S.S office to get a copy to verify my information,I did it asap. Forward another week or so and HR at the Ritz told called me and the information came back correct and the position was available if I was interested(heck yea) I ask her whatwas wrong with the first background check and she told me that the company that does the background check does a five year back ground check and my s.s did not approve before 2011 in the check . ..... hope it helps and I replied in phone so sorry for all the errors in my sentence and such
