hiring practice for place like walgreen, fast food restaurant

do they hire people base on age and race????

it seems like most walgreen(san francisco) tend to hire people base on race and age

I don't know man. This is a very sensitive issue. We can't just accuse places of hiring based on race. All I can say is just believe in yourself. If one place is not responding, apply somewhere else, maybe CVS..Rite Aid or other similar pharmacies. There's so much opportunity in this country. Don't think negatively like that. It will just put you down mentally. If you have a work permit, you have nothing to be scared about. Good luck.

most fast food restaurants hire those who have an open schedule and reliable transportation. make sure you wanna get into fast food because it sucks and it would look bad quitting with in the first few months if its not your thing

Subconscious bias perhaps. Some more so than others. It's foolish to think it doesn't happen but equally so to assume its the root of your problems.

For the most part it comes down to how you fit their needs, and how reliable you are. Open schedule and reliable transpo make the resume complete. Especially where I live, where everyone I know has to drive 10-15 mi to work on the short end. 20-30 in my case.
