How long?

Hi everyone. I just applied for deferred action. My lawyer sent my papers just last week and I've now received a letter telling me that I have to do my biometrics in a couple of weeks. I am wondering after i do that, how long will it take for my application to be reviewed? I have missed out on a year of college already, so I don't want to miss another one, meaning I can't wait longer than 6 months or so. Does anyone have recent information on how long this process takes now? Also my papers were sent to the Nebraska office, if that means anything.

Also, is there anything I should start doing while I'm waiting for my application to be reviewed?

Which centers were they sent to? I think there are 3, California, Nebraska and Texas.

The timetable for the process is varied. It could take a few weeks up to several months. I was approved 3 months after biometrics. It's interesting but anyone could experience long delays regardless of the service center. It seems that there is always one person with a pending application that is longer than 6 months, but they were also the ones who happened to apply early.

Those who applied later often get better than average waiting times (closer to 3 months). It really depends how quickly they are able to do security checks- FBI records, Immigration records, and Criminal databases, as those security checks can take a while.

I applied on 5/13.....I am still waiting. I think it was because of the request for evidence that they sent on 8/13 but they said they were going to notify me in 2 months after they received the evidence...THREE months passed and still nothing, so last month I called and said they were going to send a service request and I could hear from them in a 15days to a month...The month passed (yesterday was officially a month )and still nothing...I called today and they said they were going to notify me in 10-15 days :/ but hey, good things comes to those who wait right? lets be happy we atleast have this opportunity.
