Hi all.

It has been years since I was in a classroom setting.

Going back to college, my first semester starts in 3 weeks, what supplies do I bring?

Are binders considered tacky now? Do I have to roll with a laptop to look elite or something?...lol...

Backpack?
Binder?
Pens?
Pencils?

Anything else?

I felt the same when I started my freshman year. What I brought was a backpack and binder (w/paper) +Pencil+Pen.

The classes give you a syllabus (or make it available online) and what is expected. You go out and buy the required books for class. I say don't buy until the second/third week (or less if the professors specifically specify), you may not even need to buy the book.

Good Luck!

Please, please, DO NOT GET YOUR BOOKS FROM YOUR SCHOOL'S BOOKSTORE. Buy them online, buy them used!!!!

Thank me later.

+1, I agree. DO NOT BUY YOUR BOOKS FROM SCHOOL. Look on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. There's even an option to rent books, I'd recommend Abebooks.com

Find the cheaper alternative.

Some note papers, a pencil, a TI-89 calculator and a bottle of water is all you need.
