Anyone got new driver's license with shorter expire date?

I got my driver's license on December 2012 through DACA.
The expire date was 5 years
But I got another driver's license few days ago with the letter saying that they issued the driver's license in error and the expire date changed from 5 years to 2 years. I know that the work permit expires in 2 years.
But it's so weird that they sent me the new card after a year.
Anyone got a new driver's license like me with shorter expire date?

A lot of users who live in CA have reported this happening. What it is that the Driver's Licenses issued for 5 years is actually a mistake because it is only supposed to be for only 2 years (the time of your EAD expiration).

There's even a thread on this topic. A simple search will bring it up.
