My SSN is taking longer than my DACA case!

How on earth is this possible?

I was approved within 3 months for my DACA application. I received my EAD before the Government shut down. I THEN went to SSA the Thursday the Government re-opened, that was OCTOBER 17th! I was given a receipt telling me it would take UP TO 4 weeks, the teller told me it usually takes less than a week.

I patiently waited and 4 WEEKS went by, I called and then went back to SSA. They gave me the same receipt letter again, telling me they RE-applied for my SSN with the same form and documents.

ANOTHER 4 weeks went by. It's almost January 17th, and that will make it 3 MONTHS!
How on earth does the SSN take longer than my Case. Every time I call my SSA i applied at, I get the SAME answer. "Its still pending verification from DHS"! I keep telling them, that I applied in OCTOBER but they don't seem to care.

I also went to a different SSA office, and they couldn't help me because I applied at a different office. They gave me the Number to a supervisor from the Office I DID apply. The supervisor never answered, but left me a voice mail ones telling me the EXACT same thing, and that there is ABSOLUTELY nothing they can do until DHS verify my documents I submitted, WHICH was my Foreign Passport, and my EAD. They said those were enough proof of identity.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Ideas?
I have a couple of JOB opportunities here where I live, and I can't take ANY because the employer needs a SSN!

I am out of my mind, trying to wait for this SSN, I keep patiently waiting but I am running out of patients?
How long did it take for everyone else to get their SSN AFTER they applied for it? It should NOT take 3 months, am I right?

Mine took 1 week. I know the waiting is painful, but it's the government and there is nothing you can do about it.

You should remember that during the shutdown they didn't take application so they could be back logged from people that applied as soon as the government opened

I know the waiting is painful but an application for a new SNN shouldn't take 3 months. Or even more than 1 month!

Every time i try to get information I get the same generic answer and they won't let me do anything.

I've asked several times if there is something wrong but they just tell me the same think over and over.

I understand that, but 3 months for a new SNN? When i went October 17th. There was only a handful of people there to get a NEW SNN. I also befriended another Dreamer and HE got his SSN a week AFTER he applied for it, and we APPLIED for it at the same exact time, well not exactly we were about 2 people apart) but it was the same date.

How does his get processed first and mine has taken 3 months!? That is what makes no sense to me.
