Would applying for two reasons for AP jepordize your approval?

1) I want to go on an engineering conference in Germany, which is educational.
2) For my second reason, I would like to go to Mexico to visit my sick dad, which is humanitarian reasons.

I know that you can apply for multiple trips, but i don't know if that means that multiple trips for the same reason or if it is ok to apply for different things.

I don't see why it would. AP doesn't require you to go from A to B and back to A in a straight line.
