So I've been doing the intermediate plan from the famous youtuber scooby1969. I kind of dont like it because it feels like you are working out every single day even though in reality you are only working out each body group two times a week.

I wanted to know what are the fitness plans some of you follow, and if you work out at home or go to the gym, and perhaps most importantly have those routines given you good results?

Maybe talk about nutrition also since it is also important.

You can add one day rest in between. I try to keep workouts between 30-45 minutes.

I'm not claiming this is right or good for everybody but I've kept up with this routine for the last 12 years and had done it half-assed for 3 years before that. Basically, I do a whole body routine where I lift weights and do cardio in the following routine, more or less

Back and biceps
cardio (elliptical machine usually because I have old man knees)
chest and triceps
Cardio
legs and core
shoulder and triceps(triceps being half-assed)
Cardio.

The idea is to push one group one day, and let it heal for about a week before coming back to it. It would be great if I did this 7 days a week but realistically, I do it 3-5 times a week...sometimes more, but usually one body part starts hurting so have to skip it, or maybe I'm busy at work that week, etc. but 3 times a week is the absolute minimum unless I've caught a bad cold or am fighting off an infection, have an injury, or otherwise don't need to get hurt more.

I know a lot of people just do all cardio and light weights. They don't need to group their muscles as they are not being strained too much each day. Just gotta find out what your goal is and stick to it. Diet plays a very big role too.

LOL, I'm actually using Scoobys Intermediate Plan now myself, but I switched up some of the workouts. I may finally settle on his Advanced Workout Plan once I am more dedicated to doing everything correctly and efficiently.

I actually am fitness oriented but I tend to half ass things as my life is too busy now-a-days. I am trying to do so many things within the next couple of years.

I workout at home using some free weights, its a respectable amount of weights, but doesn't match what a gym can offer. I am kinda lazy to go to a gym, and technically I don't have flexible time to work a gym into a respectable workout routine at the moment.

My goal is to gain 5 lbs. of muscle a year, but even that seems very difficult as I tend to half ass for months on end at times, but I suspect soon I may dedicate myself to working out 100% and start to see accelerated results.

haha cool. The advanced routine seems too hardcore because you are working out every single day. I work out at home too. I dont like the gym because it is alway full and you have to wait for people to finish on a machine. It kind of sucks not to have a spotter though since you cant do reps to failure..

My feeling is that doing it halfassed is still better than sitting on the couch. You stretch your muscles a little bit and more importantly, the routine is not broken. That's the killer. If you stop going for a few days, it gets harder to get yourself to go to the gym or that walk.

You just have to stick to it so that's why the fads don't work. I've known many a people (usually party girls) who eat crap proudly and boast about it, party all the time, don't get any sleep, drink energy drinks just to wake up in the morning, etc. all of a sudden discover a new fad (like PX90 or Crossfit now days) and go all out for a whole month while posting facebook pictures about it all day and then just get worn out or bored with it and then go back to living unhealthy.

Now if you do it slow and steady, it becomes part of your lifestyle. Almost like an addiction. If you're doing that already, then the fads may be nice to shake things up a bit but this one or two month business isn't going to cut it.

I hear ya, and I've been doing this fitness thing for years...albeit not as efficient as I can, lol.

The big problem with me is sleep, and my job. Once I stop being stubborn and get proper sleep consistently, that will allow me to have consistent energy to work out when I have to, and the job well I'm working on college right now, hopefully that will open up the opportunity I need to move on career-wise and enjoy what I do for a living alittle more.

I haven't seen his advance routine, but you need to be careful with working out everyday. You always need at least one day rest(or light cardio) out of the week to give your central nervous system a break. Those routines are usually for people with a very tight lifestyle(right diet, enough rest, good genes) or steroids. Most people will do fine with 3 days of weights a week and cardio in between.

I am gonna make this quick but in 2012 I was very serious with fitness. I was eating like 6 times a day and working out like an hour at the gym then jogging afterward(jogged in the morning also). But now as off mid 2013 I got lazy and and dont even eat right anymore. Well Im gonna start again wen I can afford my little diet plan because u need to eat just as much as u work out.
