...... grandparents close by

My last remaining grandmother passed away on Friday morning My father's mother. She lived in Mexico. He can't go see her. He won't be able to come back. I think his brothers and sisters are mad at him. He's the only one who won't be there. Like if it's not tearing him up inside already!

These invisible chains we have MUST be cut!!!!

I don't know what's sadder... missing her because I didn't know her that well or missing her because I didn't have a chance to form memories of her.

I don't get this 'being mad' thing. Do they really expect their sibling to leave his/her spouse and children in USA permanently just to attend a funeral? Unless they're mentally disabled they know without papers his/her chance of coming back to USA is practically zero.

My mom went to Mexico before my grandma passed away. She said it was one of the best decisions she's ever made. She struggled to come back but she made it. I grew up with my grandma and I wish I could of seen her before she passed. Till this day this haunts me.

Well, this is the life we have chosen. Going back there won't bring her back. I don't think she'd want him to throw away everything either. The other family members are probably pissed at him for being here in the first place living the life in the US and driving in his big car in big gold paved roads with everything good happening to him while they're stuck in the hellhole so this is just something else to pile on. His mother is with him in spirit. Nobody can take his memories away.
