So this past weekend i went to a Honda dealership looked at some cars and decided to lease a 2014 Honda Civic EX, everything was going smooth, gave my first month and went back home we were told we would hear from them during the week. BTW my co-signer is my employer whom i've been working for 7 yrs, he leased his car at the same dealership so we went there because he got a good deal last time. So on Monday the sales person calls me and tells me the car is ready and i can pick it up anytime, i tell him i will be picking it up that afternoon so he gives me the VIN # i contacted Geico got everything done faxed the info to the dealership without any problems. About an hour later i get a call from the dealership, he starts asking me if i have a Green card or Perminant Resident card i answer him no all i have is a EAD. So he puts me on hold and than he tells me the bank needs a Green card and that there is no deal ? Now why is that im doing it with a co-signer who has good credit, i would understand if i was doing it on my own it will be understandable but if something was to happen to me he will be held responsible right? So why is Honda denying me the lease? My co-signer spoke with the salesman and he said the law changed, so now we will send an email to Honda to see what is really the problem. Can you even lease or finance a car with DACA ?

I believe is the banks fault not Honda. Have you looked at banks in your area and see what are their requirements?

Edit: Why do you need a co-signer to lease a car? Do you have bad credit?

I believe it is Honda's fault since im leasing thru them, well i started my credit last summer and so far i have been good CreditKarma has me at 732 and they raise my credit limit to $2300 so i think my score is fair. And the reason i got a co-signer was to get a better APR

Sorry to hear that brah. ANY chance you can go through a credit union? Sounds to me it is the bank playing spoil sport. You need to be a US Citizen or PR for loans through BANKS.

Why lease a car. I would opt for buying my car. and i also think this is the bank not giving the loan not honda. Dealers usually have several banks to loan customers the money depending on the customers needs.

I had a green card holder cosign Honda civic with me, and we had no problem. All I showed them was my driver license permit.
