My DACA got approved on 9/26/2012. On the uscis website it states "Submit your DACA renewal request package approximately 120 days (or 4 months) before your current period of DACA expires." but I cannot do that since I have approximately 2 days left... What will happen to my renewal application? Will it go behind everyone else's or will I still get it in time? I know it also says " If you have filed at least 120 days before your deferred action and EAD expire and USCIS is unexpectedly delayed in processing your renewal request, USCIS may provide deferred action and employment authorization for a short period of time until your renewal is adjudicated." but does that even apply to me since I will be passed 120 days after 5/26/2014? Help!

They have not yet released the forms. It is coming soon. USCIS has said by the end of this month. There is only a week left so it will be coming any day now. Don't worry. 120 days is the maximum amount of days that you can file before your expiration date. It doesn't mean you have to do it exactly then.

According to excel, you still have 124 days left so do not worry. I am sure the forms will be released on Wednesday.

Me on the other hand, have 123 days left.

You guys DON'T have to submit it exactly at that time. USCIS recommends that you send it at that time because it can get backed up with soooooo many different applications.

So, they recommend I send it 120 days, what if it gets delayed? Will my things get expired before I get a new one? I'm not very up to date with this kind of stuff but when I do get the form and send it in, will I get a new SSN and work permit #? or will it stay the same? AND when I do get the new application approved, will it start from the day my last approval expires or the new day they approve it? if that makes sense... (will my expiration date just be two years later from what it is now or will they change it?) I've been wondering about that forever ago... please help!! Thank you.

As I understand it, they'll issue temporary work permits to people with applications they know will be delayed beyond the original expiration date.

I highly doubt that your SSN# and work permit # will change.

USCIS is, as always, taking its time. You know, taking 2 hour lunches, taking vacations. You know how it is. They took their sweet g*dd@mn time with my family's application too, which is why I'm now posting on this forum... -_-

Confirmation..that one's SSN NEVER changes, neither does the "Alien Number" which is on your EAD. However, when you are no longer authorized to work in the United States, you are issued a new SSN and your records are updated, because currently..your SSN clearly states "Authorized for work by DHS Authorization." The number itself never changes. None of this should concern DACA recipients as long as they submit their renewal forms on time and not delay it unnecessary. If for some reason there is a huge backlog, USCIS will most certainly maintain the work authorization for the individuals.

True. Anyone in the process of getting a green card, once approved, can apply for the permanent social security card without the DHS/INS phrase on it. And as mentioned the number never changes.

If your DACA renewal application isn't decided upon and your EAD nears the expiration, it is very likely that USCIS will give an extension of work authorization in the form of a paper document that you can present to your employer. This can also serve as proof of continued legal presence. It'll give USCIS more time to adjudicate (make a decision) on your renewal application while preventing you from falling back to undocumented status and racking up any (more) time that you are here illegally.

Your license will have to get renewed after you receive your new work authorization, not before, only after.
