Hi guys, I have my EAD and License and have been approved for DACA since October of 2012. I've traveled within the US without any problems..

But.. is there a risk in going to Puerto Rico? I know there are none going in.. it is a US territory I know.

but what are the risks of coming back?

I've already searched for every post on PR.

Most say it's okay, and there's a site with lawyer's opinion saying it's okay too. but are there any recent peeps that have gone to PR and have come back RECENTLY?

any DACA peeps?

I think it should be ok; I contacted a CBP agent and told him about my DACA status and asked if travel to the USVI would be considered an international trip. Their response
Quote:
Thank you for contacting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) INFO Center.

Travel to the US Virgin Islands is not considered to be an international trip. You should still carry your documents to show your Deferred Action status in the US.
If you have any questions like that, always ask an agent at CBP via email on their website, after all they are the ones that get to decide if you can come back to the mainland or not!

I just came back from Puerto Rico yesterday! Here's what I experienced.

Coming into the airport, our (my mother and I) bags were checked by the US Department of Agriculture- It's expected since we can't bring back mangoes or pineapples or the sort to the mainland.

Next was the airport security which just checked our IDs and Tickets. We noticed customs but it was for incoming international flights, like it is an office located off to the side where the people would be arriving in.

My ID has "temporary" in bold red. Do you think that would pose an issue or being questioned more coming back from PR?

No problem at all. I went to PR three times upon getting my DACA approved three years ago.
I was really nervous at first but they don't check anything other than your flight ticket and driver license.
As long as you have those in hand, you should not worry at all.
I am planning on visiting Old San Juan within a couple of months. Such a lovely place, and I love snorkeling
