Hi. I want to apply for AP due to the fact that my grandma is very sick. I read on some threads that in cases like this, you can actually make an infopass appt and go right into the office and sometimes, they can give you the AP papers 2 hours later. Has anyone experienced this?

If I do need to mail it in, how long is the wait? I've seen some people get AP as quickly as 15 days if they put in an expedited request letter.

How long is the approval period for? 1 week? 2 weeks? I expect I need some time to settle things with my family so 2 or more weeks would be best. Should I request for that in the form? Do they usually approve your requests?

Thanks for your help in advance!

You should call them directly and ask if you want an immediate answer. I dont think we know, everyone who has gotten AP did it the long way which was to send a request

Emlopez, what documents did you show to prove that your relative was ill and did you have to submit documents that prove your relationship with that person?

There is a section on the instructions that says you can write "EXPEDITE" somewhere on the application. Try finding that.
