I tried adding my correct social to my college records. When I added it the first time, the woman entered it wrong and I just caught that. Now, they aren't accepting my social security card as valid because it says "for work authorization only." I argued with this woman for two hours because she wouldn't accept it. This is for Long Beach City College in CA. She says I cannot use it for school, only work. I have a feeling she doesn't know what she's talking about but maybe someone had the same problem?? Thanks! I have never ran into this problem before.

Umm... tell her that they have the wrong SSN? Show her the proof, the new number? Seems like that lady doesn't know anything. You are only allowed to have only one SSN at a time.

Yeah, she saw my card was different so immediately said she's not taking it. She just handed it back and wouldn't help me...lol so frustrating!! I'm trying to contact the director of admissions and records.

She was this older white lady. She was super nice until she saw I was an ab540 student. I think she just didn't want to help me. She said to come another day and called the next person up lol. She was so mean I literally cried with frustration and some random guy gave me a hug LOL I felt so embarrassed!!!!

Why don't you call the office and ask how to go about the situation. Tell them what happened with the lady and hopefully you'll get someone else that's a bit more helpful. I would say talk to your counselor about it but I don't know if they would be of any help. Or go back to school on a different day to avoid getting stuck with the same person.

That was so rude of her!
