Hello Everyone,

Look time looker, first time poster. I was wondering if anyone has had their application routed to Texas Processing Center lately. Given my state, Nebraska should have handled my case but it went to Texas. I applied in late Feb, Bios second week of March on assigned day (no walk in). The quick turnaround to Bios had me feeling good but I have not heard anything yet. I thought my case would be rather simply. Came on valid H1b visa, company's lawyers messed up i485 and so we cancelled that case years ago i.e. no pending case. Been here since I was 5, high school graduate, currently in last year at a four year university with 4.00 GPA, never used fake SSN to work or anything like that. Despite this, nothing from USCIS and wanted to hear from others about what might be wrong with my application or why Texas is taking so long.

Thanks!

You have a very good case, lots of reasons for them to approve you!! If you still dont hear nothing, you can still do your e-request next month, when u pass the 6 months since you said that u applied late february, you might get a better picture on whats going on !!!! Good luck with everything.

You're still within the 6 month timeframe. It is taking longer now to approve initial DACA applications. Your past immigration history may have resulted in a longer processing time also. I do not know the facts behind your i485 case that was messed up. Can you not apply for AOS again on a different basis? Anyways, best of luck.

I know that it is still under the timeframe and it is taking longer to approve cases but I am puzzled by how some people applied after me, got RFE, and still got approved before me. It looks like most of those cases are at Nebraska though. I didn't think that completely legal immigration history would hold back my application but you never know what USCIS case officers are doing or thinking! I think I could AOS into permanent status but I want to wait until I am working and can afford a good lawyer to make sure everything goes smoothly. Regardless, thanks for your well wishes!

If it is any consolation, I was approved in 5 months at Nebraska, and I saw that others who applied later than me were approved earlier. I also had/still have previous immigration cases. As for why your case was transferred to Texas, did this happen recently? It may be because the Nebraska Service Center is loaded with the DACA renewal cases. It seems like all the DACA renewal applications are being sent there. Like you said, you never know with the officers. I wouldn't worry. Your case seems solid and should be approved shortly.

No, my case was originally sent to Texas even though Nebraska is where USCIS's website says cases from my state goes to. I had a theory that they might have sent it there because they have handled previous immigration stuff for me but I no longer believe that to be the case because my parents' original H1B was handled by Nebraska, extensions were handled by Texas, and i-485 was handled by local office with Nebraska receipt#. So I am at a loss for how they decide what service center to use. Wish I knew though for curiosity reasons. My hope is it will get approved soon but that is all in God's hands and God always seems to make things come together right around when I need it the most.

My case is in Nebraska and it has already been six months since I heard anything. Like you my bio-metrics were promptly schedule in Mid-February (I applied in Mid-January). However, my case is stuck on initial review. Just did my first e-request so I hope I get good news. Like you I'm in my last year at college and have a job that is supposed to start in January, so hopefully everything its settled by then.

I will pray for those of us waiting for our DACA approvals and work permits. But we need to have faith in God! He knows what is right for us and He will give us everything we need. Just like he gave you a job opportunity, he will bring you that permit when you least expected. Blessing sent your way!
