Help you guys, I don't k now what to do.... I just recently started applying for credit, and I am having the hardest time doing so. I was told that the best way will be to apply for a secured card which I did, and got denied right away. I thought it was because of no history. So I tried once more with a different bank, same issue. So once I received the denial letters it said that the reason was for, delinquent accounts, plus a bankruptcy! I was like WTH!!!!! So apparently there is a negative credit history and a credit score from experian of 441. Some how there is info linked to this brand new SSN. I contacted experian and the weird thing is that they can't even pull a credit report, and according to the denial letter that's who reported the score and the credit. They said for me to sent copies of my SSN and DL and a letter from the Social Security administration stating when was the SSN issued. I will do all that, but I was just wondering if anyone else has gone thru this? I've been denied left and right from almost every place I've applied. If anyone else has gone thru this please let me know. I have never had any credit before, and I feel like I probably won't have the chance to build any.

Keep in mind that everytime you apply for a card, they do a "hard pull" on your credit to get all of the information. Too many hard pulls in a period of time will negatively affect your credit.

Well now, I know that... it probably shows the inquiries now, but my concern still is why experian shows a credit report? Don't get it.

Well you can pull your credit report yourself once a year for free at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/

It is government authorized. Once you pull the report, start challenging all these accounts and bankruptcy. If all else fails, call SSA and explain to them what is going on and ask for a new SSN. One of the very few reasons you can ask for a new SSN is identity theft which I would argue is what is happening here.

My first card was with Discover too! With the same amount and it was only a week after I got my SNN issued. I now have 4 CC's with a score of 722. It's not the greatest but Discover did help in starting me with my first line of credit!

I don't get it, I see some of you got approved, I am having the hardest time ever, almost giving up. I do not understand why I keep getting denied. I have tried every single way to check my credit report I even paid, and there is nothing , no records with my ssn. So I don't know what experian is talking about!!!!
